Is there an expectation of privacy in what you tell someone else?

No. Not really. Under the false friends doctrine, there is no right to expect that something you say to someone else will actually remain private; on other words, the other person has every right to reveal what you said to the police and you don’t have an expectation of privacy in those statements, i.e., there is no Fourth Amendment violation.
