What is collaborative divorce?

Collaborative divorce is a newer, novel approach to divorce settlements. In collaborative divorce, a collaborative lawyer offers representation without litigation. The advantage to a collaborative divorce is that it provides lawyers with new, formal and non-adversarial approach to resolving a divorce. Collaborative law also offers a structured, non-adversarial alternative to dispute resolution, talking with the spouses without a court or a mediator until the two sides come to an agreement. Another advantage to the collaborative law process is that attorney-client privilege is respected, and it offers creative solutions to divorce.
